Installing Waterproofing
- If necessary rasp or scrape the wall to remove any dirt, cement, or oxidation.
- Brush or power wash the wall to accept the adhesive backed waterbarrior membrane.
- Measure wall area to determine length of membrane. Be sure to allow enough excess to cover footing and extend out away from base of footing.
- Cut membrane to specified length.
- Separate adhesive liner down 8"-10" in preparation for placement on wall.
- Using two workmen hold both edges up to top of area to be covered. Attach one edge first and then level membrane with lines on wall.
- Once level rub top edge to adhear to wall . Continue rubbing membrane against wall moving down the center and then outwards to remove airpockets.
- Evenly pull backer down approximately 12" - 24" and repeat.
- Carefully adhear the membrane to all Irregularities such as inside and outside corners.
Installing nylon buttons through membrane into nailing surfaces.
Nylon buttons help keep waterproofing in place.
- Use a roller to remove all air bubbles and insure that the membrane is adhered to the foundation wall.
- You may want to consider applying primer on the ICF wall prior to installing the membrane. Especally if the wall surface is oxidized, or dirty, this will help the membrane to adhear to the wall. one last item to consider is tempature, there are summer and winter rated membrane
